FOSS4G and GRASS-Japan Portal SIte Free/Libre Open Source Software (FOSS) for Geoinformatics (4G) and GRASS-Japan Portal Site is established in order to to incubate, nourish and promote FOSS geoinformatics capabilities. FOSS4G portal site aims at supporting customization, internationalization and development of FOSS4G tools such as , MapServer and other FOSS4G tools. FOSS4G portal site also hopes to provide an open forum to discuss and explore opportunities to jump-start indigenous FOSS4G capabilities while enriching input to the global software community. In support of the above mentioned aims, FOSS4G and GRASS-Japan initiative plans to engage in activities such as, Providing an open organizational infrastructure to disseminate information related to FOSS4G tools. Promoting collaborative interdisciplinary research and development and implementation FOSS4G solutions.
